Solid Gold makes a variety of products which include SeaMeal. I have used this product for years now, off and on. I admit to cutting back like everyone else does right now because of the economy. I will tell you that within a month, I could see the difference in my dogs' coats. I have bought the supplement again and am cutting back in other areas, but not when it comes to the health and well-being of my companion animals. I highly recommend all products made by the Solid Gold company. They have an excellent line of petfood with holistic ingredients and high end ingredients. You might want to consider some of their other products as well.

My canines' coats have more shine & richer color because of the Solid Gold Sea Meal. Marley, Rover & Laine (the canines) happily eat the sea meal in their food. [...] got the product to me uber quick!

My yellow lab seems to shed much less after being on this supplement for a couple of weeks.

This stuff will grow Hair on a Bucket....as my friend likes to put it. I am in dog rescue and we get many dogs coming in with skin and hair loss issues. Poor nutrition and low immune systems compound these problems. Adding Solid Gold Seameal in their food perks them right up and facilitates faster recovery for their skin issues and the re-growth of fur....beautiful fur! The Fatty Acids and fish oils really make their fur lustrous!! Like I said....it will Grow Hair on a Bucket!!!

This product really helped my German Shepherd with her allergies! It took about 8 weeks before I saw results, but the wait was worth it. We have had her on this for 4 months and there is no scratching, itching or yeast infections. We have tried everything to include expensive prescription medications, this is the first thing that actually worked and is great for dogs!

I use these for doggie treats...they are healthy and the dog goes insane for them. Garlic is a natural antibiotic, Brewer's yeast is a great source of vit B. I think they go a long way to making my 14-year old dog a bit healthier than normal old dogs. I have purchased this item for years, just found a new source, and this seller couldn't have been better to buy from.

Our dog thinks it is a treat, but it's very healthy for him, according to the trainer at the behavior classes we took. She says it helps keep fleas away, too, for whatever that's worth.

I was not sent the item that I ordered. I ordered the Brewers Yeast with Omega 3. I am still waiting to receive my credit. I puchased the item the end of November - it is now the begininng of January 2007. Doreen - Yorkville, IL

Without this product, my standard poodle used to have problems with her ears and very leaky eyes. Leaky eyes are common among the smaller poodles, but not standards. They would get so bad she actually needed antibiotics from the vet. Her ears needed to be treated weekly. Daily doses of Seameal have eliminated all those issues. Not to mention, I am sure there are other benefits for her that I can't detect. I will never be without this product for any of my dogs, present and future.

My four year old minature poodle/lab mix lost quite a bit of hair on his chest. Within a couple of weeks after giving him the Solid Gold Seameal Powder, his hair grew back really nicely. Great product.

It cannot be a coincidence that within a month of purchasing Solid Gold Seameal, our dogs coats are shinier and softer. On to the cats.

I was a bit hesitant about buying this because one of my dogs is picky about what she eats. Some supplements I have to hand feed to make sure she eats it. Whenever I add this to her food, she eats ALL of it!

This has been a valuable nutrient for my giant breed dog. The quality is always exceptional and the price unbeatable.

This is my favorite brewer's yeast, hands down. Here's why: 1. It tastes much better than other ones I've tried. 2. The nutritional profile is great, especially for protein and iron. A single serving of 2 tablespoons provides 16g of protein and 30% RDA of iron. 3. It dissolves easily and tastes good in most recipes (cookies are a favorite). 4. The cost here on Amazon is awesome!

I bought both this brand and KAL brand. This one is tastier, with a richer, more complex flavor and better texture. Also, This brand gives me that "niacin flush", a blood rush to the face and chest, that is like a blush. This tells me it's freshness/nutritional quality is better. Niacin causes your capillaries in the body to widen. Capillaries are the main way for the body to rid itself of toxins. The niacin flush is actually a very healthy reaction from our bodies. Niacin flush will ebb in an individual when tolerance levels are reached. I used both yeasts after lengths of abstinence from nutritional yeasts. Only the Lewis Labs brand gave me the result. A niacin flush is not why I eat nutritional yeast, but I'll choose the one that gives it over the one that doesn't. By the way, this reaction can be avoided, if you don't want it. By starting out using only small amounts and gauging your reaction to the food, you can find out about how your body reacts. You'll receive nutritional benefit in any case. I find the flush an interesting/positive reaction. Eat without fear, it will not necessarily cause this reaction in you.

I have taken Brewer's Yeast for many years, and the only one I can tolerate the taste of is Lewis Labs' since the yeast is grown on beets. This product provides the B vitamins I have never been able to assimilate. It is an awesome product.

I purchased Lewis the first time at the grocery store, where it is waaaay overpriced. I was reluctant to try Swanson's brand because Lewis touts its brand as the only one that does not have a bad taste. I tried Swanson's brand based on a favorable review on their website which claimed it had no bad taste, so I bought a couple cans. I cannot tell any difference in appearance or taste between Lewis Labs and Swanson's. And Swanson's is much cheaper :D!

Brewer's Yesat is alleged to be full of viatamin A. However, I use it to add a delightful full-bodied, "toasteded" flavor to many of my breads: about 1 rounded tablespoon per loaf or per batch of biscuits. Everyone who's tried my breads with the Brewer's yeast comments favorably on the flavor. If you like rich-tasting, flavorful breads, this is worth a try.

I use this to make biscuits for my dog, he loves them so I guess this stuff is pretty good! This is the 2nd time I've ordered from this company and I'm very happy with them.

Prior to buying brewers yeast in a powder form I had to take the brewers yeast tablets and grind them in my spice mill grinder. This product eliminates a step from my routine and it is very cheap too. I take a teaspoon of this and add it to a weeks worth of homemade dog food. I also add a teaspoon of fish oil and Glucosamine HCL since he has previous had a knee injury. My dog never eats kibble it has given him stones and over all bad health. Now my bichon frise is a picture of perfect health with boundless energy. Now if they could get the glucosamine HCL in a powder form my life would be sooo easy!

I use this in the preparation of home made pet food for my pets - seems to be working just great!

I purchased this brewers yeast powder so I could supplement my dogs' diets. I use the pills for myself and hubby so we don't have to taste it if we don't want to but still get the benefits. My beagle and jack russel terrier love brewers yeast sprinkled over their canned or homemade dog food(about half a tablespoon for a half-can). Much to my surprise, they also like brewers yeast tablets to chew. This has made a dramatic improvement in both dogs' behavior; they're happier and more active. It is helping to keep bugs such as fleas and ticks off as well. So we are all very happy and will continue to buy and use this brand of supplement.

FIRST OFF: PURCHASING HEALTH FOOD IS ABOUT CHOICE & SOMETIMES COMPROMISE There are many excellent brands of Brewer's Yeast Powder, "Twin Labs" is my favorite for quality, taste, value and nutritional properties, but this Swanson product is very effective, the best value and tastes better than most. Frankly, buying it for less than $4. per pound does make all the difference, but it still has to be good stuff, which we feel it is. Having said that, if they were the same price and available through the same vendor, I would pick the Twin labs product every time. Bear in mind however, that there are many Brewer's Yeasts on the market that taste awful or are so expensive and sometimes both, that one must appreciate and consider this Swanson product. IN A NUTSHELL: VERY GOOD TASTING "REAL BREWER'S YEAST" -- NOTHING ADDED This "Genuine Brewer's Yeast" powder tastes very good for real Brewers Yeast. Having said that, remember this is not a vitamin or mineral -- BREWER'S YEAST is one of the ultimate super-foods, a veritable food supplement by itself. Traditionally, people who have been involved with weight lifting, body building or competitive sports that require strength, and muscle building have found that Brewer's Yeast had preceded them. BOTTOM LINE: EXCELLENT PRICE -- GOOD PRODUCT I usually shop for Brewer's Yeast on the basis of price first as it is handled by all the large vendors that sell via Amazon including Swanson's. Interestingly, the larger vendors tend to have fresher product, and this is evidenced by the expiration date on the jar which typically gives you about 2 years on these vacuum sealed containers. Having said that, I do prefer the Twin Labs product, and a careful check of the label showed Twin Labs to be somewhat more nutrient dense. However, this Swanson brand does have an extremely high chromium content, which is very bioavailable in this naturally occurring form. We are beginning to make our own raw dog food and our dog food specialist suggested using Brewers Yeast as one of the supplements. This product is pure brewers yeast without garlic. Many products we found in stores contained garlic and garlic is a blood thinner which we did not want to add to the dog's food. The product was exactly what we had expected. My only complaint is that because the product wasn't shipped from Amazon we didn't know when it would arrive and information on the Amazon site was limited. The product came quickly but we were not able to easily obtain that information. Otherwise if anyone is looking for pure brewers yeast I would recommend buying this product from this supplier, and we will continue ordering from them also.
